It works beautifully. My only concern was that the top front right hand cormer of the unit had a very sharp metal burr that affected the finish and needed to be blunted before someone was cut by it.

The box beat the gun to my house so thats pretty good.

I had the smaller unit so was familiar with the locking mechanism impinging on the inner content space. Beware of this for larger items and you are good to go. Its not as pronounced on the larger unit (more height) but still an issue

I purchased this safe to keep in the bedroom. Its a bit large for my top dresser drawers but its still a fantastic safe. This will not fail due to battery life is easily opened in the dark and the combination change is easy to complete. I keep a full size Glock 21 with extra mag and there is still free space.

I purchased two one for my car which
I mounted on the floor to hold a weapon cash documents etc. and one for my house for temporary secure storage of weapons and mail. These units are sturdy secure and versatile. The Simplex locking system is strong and reliable. This model is also a good size for safely storing prescription medications which might be dangerous to kids and pets.


Previously I had an 'electronic' locking box. It was expensive and unreliable junk. The locking mechanism failed to open at a critical time leaving me in a potentially dangerous situation.

These units have been in use since 2008 with no problems whatsoever.
